Traits, inheritance, mutations

Human Genome Project

Case Study: Genetic disorders and personalized medicine
Activity:

DNA extraction from fruit (hands-on or virtual demo)

Build a DNA model with candy or paper

🧪 DAY 2: Biotech Tools & Technologies
Theme: The Science Behind the Innovation

Introduction to biotechnology: past, present, future

Tools: PCR, Gel electrophoresis, DNA sequencing

CRISPR and gene editing explained

Cloning: from Dolly the sheep to designer pets
Activity:

Virtual CRISPR simulation or PCR lab walkthrough

Group brainstorm: If you could edit one gene, what would it be and why?

Vaccines and mRNA technology (e.g., COVID-19)

Final review and future careers in biotech
